Moyer Reunion

Yesterday was the 20th Moyer family reunion. I, for one, think Annette did a bang-up job. Annette, Kudos!

Since we, as a family, have decided to start indoctrinating 4th generation Moyers to organize the event and/or games, and because the family is constantly growing, I believe we should develop a list of rules/guidelines for them to know what is expected and what to expect. This blog is here for the creation of these guidelines. It should be an open forum for all to contribute. Please feel free to post your opinions, ideas and constructive criticism.

  1. I would like to suggest that each family have a core commitee member designated to decide things during the year that may come up. We also could have a check list to be handed down each year of what needs to be done by who is in charge of the different things. I appreciate the tables being covered when we get there and Bob bringing the ice and container each time.I think that things like that should be listed because each year the president might not know what all needs to be done. I would also like to mention that not everyone likes to be sprayed or hit by water ballons and that we keep that away from the pavilion area. We all have such a great time and the family keeps growing so this forum is a wonderful suggestion to give us a place to post comments -thanks Tom!

  2. Do to recent email inquiries.. I think we might want to have a 'Family Historian' this one person could be in charge of creating the online family photo albums and keeping all contact information up to date. This way when who ever takes the pictures each year; they could send it to the historian who would then post them to the web and send out the link for those to see... and for those without email; the historian could send a picture collage through regular mail.

  3. I love the idea of a checklist to pass on and the family historian......I think that when it is your turn to plan the reunion, it is easy to feel like you are starting from scratch....and with the years of planning behind us, both of these ideas could be beneficial!

  4. HOW DETAILED WOULD THE FAMILY HISTORIAN BE,THIS IS A GOOD IDEA TO BE PASSED DOWN TO THE NEXT GENERATIONS.DO WE LIST BIRTHDATES AND BIRTH LOCATIONS,PARENTS AND GODPARENTS? ALSO A GRAPHIC OF THE FAMILY TREE WOULD BE NICE MAYBE WITH PICTURES.MAYBE INTERVIEW THE SENIORS ON INSITES.
